In a little over 100 years, we went from heart disease being a rare condition in the early 1900s, to being the leading cause of death in humans. Why?  Preface: I’ve known seed oils are bad for the last few months, but the majority of sources I follow have never really explained why or how […]

It is now one year since the first case of COVID-19 was recorded in the United States and almost one year since the lockdown began. A lot has changed, and a lot has remained the same. One massive change we can visibly observe is the socioeconomic impact the pandemic has had on the state of […]

Want to quit non-dairy milks, but don’t know how? If you’re someone like me who finally was ready to break up with oat milk after significant health consequences from years and years of ‘dairy alternatives,’ let me teach you.  First things first: purchase digestive enzymes. I’ve linked a $10 off coupon code in which the […]

Red light therapy is a form of low-level laser the Red light therapy is a form of low-level laser therapy used to treat various medical and cosmetic conditions by stimulating cellular activity in the body.

Benefits include reduced pain and inflammation, enhanced athletic performance, improved sleep quality, cognitive function, energy levels and skin health.

You can see here that in just 1 week of consistent red light therapy, my symptoms from an eczema flare were drastically reduced.

I also use my machine in the evenings after spending a significant amount of screen time on my phone and computer.

Red light therapy is commonly administered in a clinical setting, but there are also at-home devices available for personal use. These devices can be handheld, panel-style, or even full-body systems. I personally use the @mitoredlightofficial - discount link available via DM.

Check out my entire piece on the benefits of red light therapy on my site: megconnolly.com

Let me know if you have given it a try! ❤️‍🔥

Beware the #IdesofMarch 🕯⏳ #FunFact I studie Beware the #IdesofMarch 🕯⏳

#FunFact I studied and tutored Latin for almost a decade. I have the fundamentals of over 40 Romance languages & dialects but not (yet) perfectly fluent in a single one.

Studying Latin was an incredible experience that just came very natural to me. When I enrolled to take Latin my freshman year of high school, my intention was solely to have a great vocabulary so I could do well on the SAT and get into Villanova.

Little did I know that 2 of my Latin mentors / teachers would help me grow into the person I am today, not only just with Latin but also daily life lessons that would come from the stories we’d translate.

Shout out to David Bonagura who is now killing it teaching Latin at Regis High School in NYC and a Professor at St Joseph’s Seminary. Also shout out to Fr Phil Eichner (God rest his soul) who helped me apply Latin to my faith as well and was an incredible friend to me during some difficult times throughout my junior and senior year.

Forever grateful for these tools and life lessons provided to me while (and after) they were my Latin teachers.

Having a tough time these last 36 hours with #dayl Having a tough time these last 36 hours with #daylightsavings? It’s time to start prioritizing high-quality sleep. 💤

The most impactful and easiest things you can do to improve your sleep are to get morning sunlight (VERY important!) and reduce #bluelight such as your computer/smartphone at least an hour or so before bedtime. I really struggle with this one too.

For sleep regulation, I also recommend getting an oura ring or some sort of sleep tracker. The oura helped transform my sleep!

Lastly, I highly recommend reading the book Why We Sleep by @drmattwalker - it is incredibly eye opening.

Sleep is NOT for the weak!
Imagine talking to your ancestors only a few gener Imagine talking to your ancestors only a few generations before you and having a conversation about diet and lifestyle. This is exactly what made the lightbulb go off for me with a #PCOS diagnosis last June, making me quit #oatmilk entirely and exploring a more ancestral lifestyle.

I didn’t know how it was going to go, but I knew my ancestors had a minimum of 8 children and no chronic illness.

Raw milk is on the rise, and is an incredibly complex topic with a boatload of misinformation. It’s something I have been completely fascinated by as I embark on my own health journey.

I did a deep dive on #rawdairy on my website. In the piece, I go into the following:
🥛 What raw dairy really is
🥛 Pasteurization and its origin
🥛 Bovine Tuberculosis, Brucellosis
🥛 Germ Theory vs Terrain Theory
🥛 Nutritional values of raw vs pasteurized milk
🥛 How to source it
🥛 Legality by state

The goal of the piece is to not tell you what to do, but rather present critical information so that you can make informed decisions for yourself and your family.

I really do recommend you give it a read. Maybe you will change your mind, maybe you won’t! Never stop learning.

Blog is called “Everything you need to know about raw dairy” linked on my highlights or head to megconnolly.com/blog
