Flying in for a long work weekend, we were thrilled when an important event was canceled, allowing us to arrive in Atlanta a day early. Seizing the opportunity, we booked a night at the amazing St. Regis before heading to the Georgia World Convention Center for work.

Our first night in Atlanta was nothing short of spectacular. We hosted our dear friends, Sarah “The Catholic Drinkie” (get her book HERE!) and Fr. Jack, for happy hour at the St. Regis, where we enjoyed the traditional saber ceremony—a perfect start to our adventure. The ceremony set a festive tone for the evening and we had incredible conversations about so many different things.

Afterward, Albert and I headed off to dinner at Hal’s Steakhouse. It was an incredible classic Atlanta experience. The steak, cooked in butter only, was nothing short of perfection, requiring no special requests. When I asked if they cook it in oil, they laughed and said, no – butter in cast iron ONLY. I knew they were speaking my language when I received that response. The ambiance and the flavors made it a meal to remember.

Friday morning began with a delightful breakfast at the St. Regis. Albert indulged in chicken and waffles, fried in butter with no seed oils, while I savored eggs and pastured pork and Gouda sausage from a local ranch. The hospitality was top-notch, with everyone being so nice and accommodating. I seriously could NOT BELIEVE they took the extra time to fry the chicken in BUTTER to ensure an incredible and healthful, delicious meal/experience.

Starting Work

We then made our way to the Georgia World Convention Center to kick off a whirlwind of a weekend.

On the way to the convention center, we did a supermarket sweep at this BEAUTIFUL market called the Floral Park Market where they had everything holistic that you could possibly imagine, as well as raw milk, farm fresh eggs, organic goods, stunning flowers and a great selection of snacks, CBD, and herbal supplements. I was obsessed!

The day was busy, but I managed to step away solo for dinner and drinks with my friends again. Despite not drinking much anymore, the private club crafted magnificent mocktails with zero-proof liquor. The flavors were so amazing that I can still taste them. The first one included hibiscus, passionfruit and other floral notes, whereas the second had GREEK YOGURT, citrus and other insanely incredible flavors (no it wasn’t thick from the yogurt, only a drop was used lol). I am literally still dreaming of them, but the club allowed no photos, so I am sad to say I do not have any photos to share!

The remainder of the weekend was filled with intense 18+ hour workdays. To keep our energy up, I treated myself to a 22oz cowboy ribeye from Ruth’s Chris via DoorDash both nights at the convention center like a true extra diva. It was a much-needed indulgence during our grueling schedule and I’m not the least bit sorry about it.

I also carried snacks for us such as Masa Chips, cheese, jerky bars and so on to snack on throughout the day to keep our energy levels up.

The convention center had an organic craft chocolate bar and let me tell you I could have purchased everything!! This chocolate was UNBELIEVABLE!

We attended Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, which was a beautiful basilica if you find yourself with a basilica bucket list!

We flew back on Monday after a long travel day with full hearts. The experience left us eager to return, to visit friends, and to explore more of the area we had come to love.

This whirlwind trip to Atlanta, filled with unexpected delights and cherished moments with friends, was a perfect blend of work and play. We can’t wait to go back and create more memories in this wonderful city.

Until next time, Atlanta!
