What to Pack for Endometriosis Surgery: Hospital & Recovery Essentials
Must-Have Documents & Basics
- – Photo ID
- – Insurance card
- – Surgery paperwork or pre-op instructions
- – Phone
- – Phone charger (long cord preferred)
- – Credit card or small amount of cash
Clothing to Wear When You’re Discharged to go Home
- – Dress (seriously, if you can) or loose, high-waisted pants (nothing tight on the abdomen)

- – Loose top or button-down shirt
- – Slip-on shoes or sandals
- – Warm or compression socks
Comfort & Recovery Items

- – Hair ties or claw clip
- – Small pillow or folded towel for the car ride home (to cushion the abdomen)
Toiletries (Travel Size)
- – Nontoxic baby wipes
- – Face wipes or gentle cleanser
- – Moisturizer
- – Deodorant
- – Toothbrush and toothpaste
Post-Op Support Items
- – Nightgowns – it is highly uncomfortable to wear any elastic band / PJ pants, especially when you’re going to the bathroom. Trust me with the nightgown and buy a few cheap ones on amazon

- – Gas X relief medication (if approved by your surgeon) to dissipate the CO2 gas
- Nausea medication such as Zofran (if prescribed) – this is very helpful in the first 5 days
- Stool softener such as ducolax or colace or gentle laxative (as instructed for a few days into recovery)
- – Refillable water bottle

- – socks with grips on the bottom
Optional but Helpful
- – Glasses instead of contacts
- – Notebook or notes app to track meds and symptoms
- – Recovery-friendly snacks (if allowed after discharge)

- – Jewelry
- – Makeup
- – Contact lenses
- – Valuables
- – Tight or structured clothing
